Phone freezes at G1 logo upon start-up

I decided to root my phone after waiting for my OTA update to no avail; everything went fine. I attempted to install AppsToSD and partitioned the stock 1gig SD card -- probably wrongly, split it 500mb each partition. When the application prompted me to reboot, I did so, and now it is stuck at the G1 logo.

Hard resetting doesn't work.
Booting into recovery mode and trying to reflash does not work as it can't find 'update.zip'.
Removing the SD card and trying to reboot doesn't work.

Is there any way to fix this?

Edit: Wiping doesn't work either.
