openmoko is said to be making an android handset that could possibly be landing as soon as next month? im sure it wont have a qwerty keyboard but thats pretty exciting. the quality of the hardware an openmoko handset possesses its pretty amazing. running android it would be an elite phone.

I have the freerunner phone. openmoko have their hands full getting the ASU openmoko stack in order to bring profits for their investors.
Superb hardware? what planet are you on, the freerunner uses pretty old chipsets and there are numerous bugs in its design and implementation, I was pretty annoyed and left feeling ripped off.
Take for instance the gps bug. Seems the sd card clock signal jams the GPS!! and the fix is either A) I try and solder a capacitor the size of a pin head to the sd card tracks or B) the software fix that turns off the sd card clock when not in use..... yeah right cos the only time we really need the sd card is when using map apps with GPS..... bah!
