UPDATE: again i reset it all, redid all my apps and even without KB hack or anything at all, after waking it up I get the "The process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly" loop
Now I'm upset
RESOLVED Issues were caused by the App called Contact Owner on the market, it was incompatible with the Rogers build in Canda:
Okay this is quite odd.
My Dream in Canada here has the unfortunate crippled 1.5 OS on with the lack of soft keyboard. So I looked around and found the backdoor app installer method which worked great! no issues, but after my recent problem which I posed here as well with the contact app leading me to bootloop, my hack causes the "The process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again" error every 2 seconds after force close.
This cycle continues ever after complete wipe, about 7 times now i've tried this and I NEED my keyboard on screen.
Any ideas fellow Androids?
Edit, this error only comes upon restating as you are told to do in the How-to, you also gave no service once this happens

i have a feeling that you wont have a functioning phone until you do ......
did you know cyanogens rom for the magic has the htc keyboard which learns the way you type !
anyways , try this . turn off the phone , power on holding the menu button and the power button . hold the menu button until you completely boot up . this should put you in safe mode(it should say safemode somewhere on the screen , maybe bottom ? ) . anyways , uninstall whatever god forsaken apps that you believe are doing this ( do you have any home replacement apps ? maybe uninstall the last couple apps that you installed before this started happening ) . then reboot and you should be fine . after the reboot , it would be benificial for a factory reset .
to answer the root question (haha get it) I do want to root this badboy if it can fix my issues but for fallback purposes/warranty do I have anything to lose? thats my main concern
and if you are thinking apps are being resysnced, they aren't. the only thing i added from the store(rest were SD backup) was the memory usage widget and task manger app
and on the root note, the whole G1- Dream thing from tmobile to rogers kinda spooks me from some of the radio related things i've seen, unless you cannot truely brick the dream
You can easily brick the dream with the "danger" spl . If the phone isn't compatable with it or sometimes even if it is compatable , it can brick the phone .
As long as you have access to the all important recovery , you can unbrick a dream . I have "unbricked" my phone many times . Its even fairly easy . But , back to bricking the dream , stay away from the danger spl , unless you really need it . Then make sure that you are compatable with it , dream owners . Even then , its no garranty that the danger spl won't brick your phone . With the radio , you will just need to flash the right radio it if you mess up . It doesn't effect your recovery so you can fix it . Only the spl effects it .
I'm not thinking apps are being resynced , I'm thinking that there is an app messing with your system , behaving bad .
Oh and the safemode failed to elude the loop
