    Default No SD card present error, any suggestions?

    I did a quick search on the forums on this topic and dids not find anything so appoligies if I missed a thread that already exists on this topic.

    My problem is: every now and then , (rarely though),the phone will ¿forget? that a SD card is in the phone. The issuse has been resoveled so far by just taking the SD card out waiting a second or so and putting it back in.

    Has anyone else had this issue?

    Also just to note the SD card is the one that came with the g1.

    * Update *
    Like several have stated below i think this issue, for me at least, can mostlikely be blaimed on me not fully understanding how the htc g1 works with its SD card. Like others have said in this thread make sure 'Use SD Card as USBl is disabled beforew you try to use any apps that use the SD card.

    Same here. Except it happens to me frequently. Also I'm using a 4gb Kingston card and at first I thought it was the card.

    this happened to me when i was trying to install a 3rd party app. it said i had no sd card inserted. What i did was take the check off of "use the phone as mass storage or something or other" in the sd card setting on the phone. after that, it found my sd card. hope this helps

    Yep, when you connect the phone to your pc you have to enable mass storage while transferring files to the phone and disable it again when you are finished. If you don't disable it when you are done you get that error.

    thanks!

    i will watch to make sure the sd card is not enabled as a usb device next time. hopefully that was the issue and not an issue with the card not seating properly

    I had also got this error the first time I tried to upload music on the memory card, they way I was able to get rid of it was make sure the (use for USB storage gets turned on) Then restart your phone and begin the file transfer, should work like a charm thats how I fixed mine.

    This might tick y'all off, (and probably jinx me) but I have been plugging my phone into my computer, transferring files, unplugging from the computer and not having any trouble at all. I DO have "Use for USB storage" checked and haven't had to change that setting ever. (It won't read the card from the phone WHILE plugged in. Is that what you're doing?)

    i think you might be correct as i have not had the issue insome time now. for noe i'm going to chalk this one up to not fully understanding how the phne worked yet.

    thanks for all the advice!
