I'm sure they'll keep expanding, however I wouldn't be surprised if the rate at which they were expanding slowed down.
Now since I got your attention...
I was talking to one of the workers who I work with and he found out that T-mobile will slow down or stop expanding the 3G coverage because of the economy.
I was wondering if this is true?
When I think about it, there might be some truth to it because ever since T-mobile roll out 3G coverage in October and November, we rarely hear anymore news about more cities having 3G coverage.
I'm sure they'll keep expanding, however I wouldn't be surprised if the rate at which they were expanding slowed down.
I've been told from several that a number of large cities will be getting 3g in mid-2009. June has always been the target date and it sounds like they are still on target for that. I only care about my city though... and EDGE seems plenty fast so no worries for me.
Bunk!
You should know better folks then to trust ONE employee for this info.
TMO like other carriers has to deploy on the major market spectrum they bid in a timely manner. A lot of the infrastructure purchases for 3G deployment have already been done. What may slow is the unannounced additional phases of 3G deployment in smaller markets. This would be the same though as what all carriers would do.
When it happens, it'll happen.
I'm sure they don't want to put a certain date, only to have it be postponed and expectations turn into disappointment.

Does anyone know if there is a page where T-Mobile has a list of planned cities for 3G launches?
