I've got a non rooted HTC Dream on cupcake here in Malaysia. Other users here have reported receiving their donut OTAs early in October. It's now November and I still haven't got mine!I called DiGi (my telco operator) and asked them about the OTA. They came back to me and said they do not officially support android. I've looked all over the internet for an answer. Please help. I do not want to root my droid.
Thanks.

Yeah... if you already have 1.5, it's a simple download of a single file and using it to manually update your phone to donut. Real simple
Here is the manual update and instructions.

thanks for the link. i tried it out, followed the instructions but when i tried to flash it, it said verification failed, and the operation was aborted.
the link says its for tmobile g1. i got my unit in asia so in spite of every other similarity, its called a HTC Dream over here. could that be the problem?
EDIT: i tried to do a manual install with the EU version but i got the same error as with the US version. My phone has a CRC28 build. Not sure if that helps anything.
