Hi,
It looks weird, from where you're trying to download the apps ? And which app exactly ..
Actually I have never seen the Android Market responds like this.

I recently purchased a Samsung SCH-i500 mesmerize. I am not that familiar with the operating system or much else about the phone but i have found some useful apps that make this phone very handy. My problem is that now whenever I try to download a new app I get this pop up window that says " Launch Application This link needs to be opened with an application." It shows an "OK" and a Cancel Button but nothing happens no matter which button I select. Do I have a setting configured wrong? Any help would be appreciated

I was trying to download from Andriod Market. I tried several different apps (voice alerts, executive assistant, several others) all responded with the same pop up message.
Ok give this a try ,go to the market and start up all downloads that you would like to perform.....obviously it is not going to work but thats ok, just start them up.....then back out of the market and go to setting > manage applications. select "download manager" and click "clear data", then return to application list and select "market" then click "clear cache"...now return to home screen and power off your phone, and then power it back on....give it a second and all of your downloads should start downloading.
One more thing make sure that this problem doesn't due to a connectivity issue as well.
