the new price plans for voice are only for people who buy or switch to a new plan that day. You have the choice to be locked into the plan you currently have for the next 10 years if you want.
So, I've been thinking this over... is anyone else worried about the new rate plan prices posted over at tmonews.com? Basically, it looks like it is becoming more expensive to own a G1 as any other device. One of the main reasons I switched to T-mobile was because there prices were better.
For instance, I have a family plan with my wife and I with 700 minutes for $69.99. Add in another $20 for my blackberry unlimited plan and you are up to $89.99.
Let's look a the G1 and the new plans... that same 700 minutes is now $79.99 and then add in the data plan at $25... you are now up to $104.99.
Is anyone else worried about these prices? I could switch to verizon and get the blackberry storm with a 700 minute plan and data for only $99... and the iPhone plan isn't much more. I'm just worried that T-mobile's biggest selling point to me at least was price and they are losing their edge.
What do you guys and gals think?

FYI, I believe the minutes are including with the myFaves service.
The only REAL revamp here is the inclusion of a $69.99 myfaves 400 plan. No surprise really as that price point remains the common entry level for family plans on the big carriers. This does not affect any of the non-myfaves plans.
It also includes Mobile to Mobile
Yeah, I know it affects the myFaves service and that is what I use. I don't need the mobile to mobile they are including.
snoslicer8: You don't think that when I go to re-up my 2yr contract with a G1 they won't have me switch? Technically I'm out of contract and a new contract might require a "currently offered contract"... what do you think?
If you read deep in your "terms of service" or TOS, there's a clause that says your voice plan can not and will not be changed. There are some people here still on the legacy "Get More 1500 Plan" for $39.99, which was a BARGAIN back like 5 years ago. You will be hounded to switch your plan, sure. But they can't force you, I promise. Just be strong, and say you only want to add the G1 plan, everything else stays the same.
Oh, and if you have Family Messaging for $9.99, make sure they don't take that off...it's a steal, in case you ever take off the G1 plan or add other lines to the account. Unlimited for one phone alone is $15.

i'm less than $100 dollars lol actually all that plus tax, is cheaper than what you and your wife have right this minute.
Does this price increase include all of the MyFaves plans, or just the family ones?
i believe it's just the family one's according to tmonews.com.
