You don't need to be rooted to adb into the phone and manually start the Settings intent, which will bring up the configuration panel that allows you to set up WiFi.

I understand, i just thought it would be much easier if i found someone that lived around me and i could do it in 30 seconds.

Looking to borrow a SIM card again, got a new g1....again.

Why not try craigslist? Doesn't need to be a G1 owner... just someone with a data plan. Then at least you can find someone in your area instead of searching a forum with people from all over the planet.

Nevermind just found out someone i know has tmobile with data plan.
