Need some Major Help with the phone!

Alright, this is my dilemma... I bought the G1 Android off ebay, unlocked... 2 days later, the main board fried... The thing wouldn't turn on or anything... So I sent it back to HTC and they replaced it, along with the slider...

I got the phone back, and it was LOCKED! Ahhh! But I fixed that now... After much hassle and confusion... So now I got my phone back but it's different... I get this black screen saying "No Sim Card" and I can't do much on the phone... No blue screen with the basic applications like when I first got the phone... Basicially everything got erased! I got the phone unlocking code, and tried to get it working...

Unfortunatly, there's no way of me getting to the wifi section to make the google email account! Arghh! Oh, and by the way I'm on the Fido network, and I've searched and read the stuff on that so that's cool... The thing I need help on is how do I get those normal, basic, applications back? Like the date and time and that basic sky background? This is how my phone looks right now...



Any help or tips? Much appreciated!

I don't understand. Is the phone sim unlocked?

Very confused.

1) Ok, so it recognizes the SIM, but just SAYS it doesn't, or it REALLY doesn't recognize the SIM?

2) Is this the same phone, repaired, or a replacement phone?

3) Have you tried another SIM? Maybe your original SIM got zapped when the phone went south.

4) Don't know Fido, a TMo network? So, by locked, I presume you mean to a TMo network?

5) When you say you "fixed" the lock problem, what do you mean? If it won't "see" a SIM, how can you unlock it?

6) ... OR by locked, do you mean "pattern" locked?

Let me get this straight, you bought an unlocked phone and it worked with your Fido network card?
Try wiping it, take out the sim card, boot up the phone while holding the Home and Power buttons. You should either see a screen with a box and a phone or something (if you see that, press Alt + L to get the menu) then you'll see a screen with a bunch of options and choose Alt + W (you'll lose everything on your phone!!!)
then reboot without the sim card and it should let you access some stuff
