Default music photos and my sd card?

If I started loading my new microsd card with music and photos now while I wait for my phone would it play as is or will there be a formatting required?

Has anyone heard anything about the g1 and it's interaction with picasa? Seems a very ignored subject from what I can tell.

Finally does anyone know the pros and cons of all the music players available for android? Right now, I'm cursing the fact that I use Itunes and am assuming transferring music will not be as easy as Itunes/ipod is.

The way everything has been stated in reviews, putting stuff onto your SDCard will be just as simple as dragging and dropping. I presume there will be some formatting, obviously the OS will need to know where to look for Music, Movies, Pictures, but it will probably just be folders with those names.

Don't know anything about Picasa, sorry.

That all seems simple enough as far as formatting.

I do wonder what music players are gonna shine though. The screenshots I've seen on the standard installed player is fairly boring (especially when you compare to say cover flow on itunes.) Tunewiki looks alright, I suppose.

As far as picasa, I find it strange that a google product has been so ignored. .

im guessing the card will be formated fat32, and im also guessing thats what the G1 wants, so i think it should be fine. Now if the G1 wants music in a perticular folder or whatever thats a dif story.

i loaded my card with music already too.

I'm waiting to load mine. I have two 2Gig cards and a 1G, plus the one in the G1.

I'm going to load each one with a different kind of music (the beauty over the iPhone that I can instantly switch music/movie load without hours on iTunes).

But in truth as soon as it arrives it's off to Fry's to get a 16G card.
