Yes, it has. By the lead project manager for Android. But he also said that higher capacities should be possible via firmware upgrade in the future.

I bought a 8gb class 6 card for $35.99 from www.supermediastore.com on Friday night and got it in the mail yesterday (Monday)..

Sadly, now I just have to wait for the G1 so I can put it to use..

I just check the page again today to get the link and its down to $33.99 with free shipping..

The brand is A-Data.. I don't know anything when it comes to brands on things like this, but for a class 6, its a really good deal..

It has been confirmed through a couple sites after testing that the g1 will support up to a 16gb micro sd card out of the box even though its listed as toping out at 8gb.

I got my memory card off amazon. 8gb for $18.

Few things...
Engagets review was tested with a 16GB with no issues.

Class 6 definately will read and write to it. Is it using the fastest available speed? I do not know.

8GB Class6 aData and Patriot (I use both brands frequently with no probs) ar 19.99 at frys.com
