Max MicroSD card size

Whats the biggest card size that the G1 can handle? I think it is officially 8GB, but has anyone tried a 16GB card?

i still need to purchase a 4 or 8 GB MicroSD

16GB works great! For me at least. Never had a problem.

16gb works fine... i'd wait on class 4 at least if you plan on getting a 16gb though

I would go with a class 6 speed 8gig card. Most of the 16gig cards out there are class 2 speed. The speed difference is a big difference especially when your moving 8 or 16 gigs of data.

Exactly! The current class 2 16gb sdhc cards will likely not play high quality movies well, and will most definitely not be suitable as something you move large data quantities on or off of frequently. Class 4 will suit all media purposes. Class 6 is what I would use if you plan to store your MP3 library on the card for sharing, etc.

I have a class 2 16gb...whats the disadvantages of having a lower class? All my pix and music plays and is stored fine...

It's slower, so if you don't mind the slow transfer of files, it's fine. Movies might be an issue...I have a class 2 16 GB and only have music on it, so I can't speak to that.
