I was reading a peice about Microsoft Windows Mobile from the Monday, February 9, 2009 Wall Street Journal when a line from the last paragraph cought my attintion,
"This week Google will start allowing developers to charge for software sold throught the Android market, according to people familiar with the matter."
Do they know something we don't?
Here a link to the peice. It's the last sentence of the article.

nice find man lets hope that the persons sources were right !!!
Interesting, with the new update being out and the market no longer being "beta", this could very well be a possibility. We will have to keep an eye out and see what happens.

If this is right, Google has not made possible to download to the sd card and this will hurt some developers if they do not do something quick.
If this is true, then image all the great app were going to start seeing, who knows what this developers have in store for us.
I cant wait to see what apps will be out next.

This has been my guess all along for the paid apps...
...android was pretty non existent for CES, my guess is that they are going to Dominate MWC next week though...thats when a lot of announcements will probably be made about it.

Great point – Unless they make changes to allow this natively (we know it can be done through rooting) in their OS they have severely limited the flow of apps they can sell to a single user. Obviously there will be a lot of turnover when less-used apps are dumped in favor of buying something else, but if you look the total potential apps each device can carry at a time, they have really cut themselves off.
Storage gets cheaper all the time, if Google was so insistent on applications being installed to the phone and not the SD, then why not just include greater internal storage.
Didn't have to be 8-16 like the iPhone or Omnia. 2-4 would have been perfect.
