Default Look what I found(Code for Virtual Keyboard)

As some of you know, I created the Qsearch application which uses my own virtual keyboard, I'm in the process of developing one for texting so I'm looking at the Android site a lot. While looking through the site I stumbled upon a "code review" section which seems to be a place for developers to upload there changes to Android and maintain the code. Well, I found one for Virtual keyboard for the entire platform, here is the link:

    http://review.source.android.com/3087

To my surprise it is very similar to my keyboard, with the same concept but off course this one has a whole new level of complexity being for the whole OS. I looked at the code and it looks promising.

I'm not sure what happens with this code but it's something eh?

    Thanks

But now that I see a global VK coming from Google and it might be soon I really have no need for the sms app. It is almost complete though...

And for the people complaining about my buttons, I'm going through this guys code and the buttons are pretty much the same, the screen just does not allow for more.

Is it just me or is typing with your fingers on your g1 really hard since you cant type normal and have to almost lay your finger flat/overshoot the spot your pushing? I mean, the keyboards nice on the app but trying to control stuff on the g1 via the screen is a pain for me. I believe the tips of my fingers are infact to rough for the g1 to understand they are the tips of my finger. Or perhaps thats just a flaw in the g1?

Let 'em bitch, I have no problem rotating the phone 90 degrees. Maybe they have weak wrists. The keyboard in landscape mode is awesome.

whole lotta over my head in that link.

but supposing it is a vk, do things at that site have any kind of traditional timeframe that could give us an idea of how far along or away it is?

Soooo...not to sound like a complete noob, but would this virtual keyboard most likely be released as an app or pushed out as an update?

If this is indeed a global VK it would be part of an update as it would add code to the main Android package, and actually from what I'm seeing is doing some things I can't do.
