Issue with Droid when in car dock

I have an issue. I have the new droid and like it so far, but I do have an issue that is annoying me. I have the screen timeout set for 2 mins to help conserve battery when I am using it on a normal basis. But when I have it in the car dock, connected to my car charger, and am utilizing the navigation, it is really annoying when the screen goes black after 2 mins. Is there a way to set up different setting depending if it is plugged into power or while in the car dock compared to running on the battery while in your pocket?

No but there are most likely shortcut widgets or applications to help make things similar.

Goto settings -> applications -> development -> and choose "stay awake" while charging.
