It's alot smaller then it looks in RL
Is this the best type of headphone adapter made for the G1? Is there one that is smaller?

I bought one from the android store link at the top of this page and it looks very similar to the one you linked in the OP, hell, might even be the same one. Seeing as the mini usb connection is right angled you don't really have to overly worry about the mini usb coming out of the phone (unless you're doing something that will make it come out.) The main thing I was worried about when I ordered the adapter was that the male end of the headphone jack would easily come out of the female end on the adapter, but boy was I wrong. It actually takes some work to get it out of there, so far it has worked exactly like it is supposed to.

sounds good, thanks for the info. Many reviews have a complaint about no 3.5mm headphone jack, but using an adapter like this seem like its no issue since the adapter can stay on whatever headphones you plan on using.
aye I have one bought it from here and yes it stays securely in the plug. Hell I thought it was stuck in there it was in so tight the first time I put it in. I'll take a pic here in a second of it's size.
Keep in mind most of those reviews are normally made by apple fan boys saying "OMG I cannot believe this pathetic device does not have a 3.5mm jack!! This does not in any way compare to my beloved IPhone, nor does the G1 cure cancer or bring people back from the dead like my Iphone does, what a stupid phone.." For those who are a tad more educated we all knew from the start that a simple adapter would be available to fix this problem.

What happens when the phone rings while the music is playing?
Does the music stop?
Do you simply answer the phone using the G1?
Do you think the one with the mic and button to take calls is worth the extra $$$ ??
Yes, the music stops and you can hear the ringer, if you answer the call with the headphones still plugged in you can hear the caller but the caller cannot hear you. You have to unplug the headphones in order for the caller to hear you which is not a problem for me. Taking it a step further, I sleep with my headphones in (as to not disturb my wife with the music I have to listen to to sleep) and when the alarm goes off in the morning it comes through the headphones, which at first I didn't like, but the more I use it the more I like it. Its not overbearingly loud, and when you press dismiss or snooze the music just comes right back on.
