I need your thoughts and ideas people!!!

So im a college student in Austin TX and i share an apartment with my sister...i work a part time job at Academy sports and outdoors to help pay rent...and i love the G1 and i really was thinkin about purchasing it and i am also in a family plan...so i was thinkin unlimited text from the family plan and just get the $25 a month which i BARELY see that fitting in my budget! but now i hear if u want unlimited text you need to get the $35 plan which is deffinetly out of my budget...so right now i basically am calling it quits for that dream of a G1 in my hands... So i have no idea what phone i even want anymore...my backup was going to be a sidekick 2008 but knowing sidekicks they come out every second and i hear there are rumors about one coming out soon but i dont want to purchase the 2008 and a new one coming out but also i dont want to wait too long i need a PHONE!!! so sorry i had to get this off my chest any thoughts or ideas???

Everyone has been saying that if you have the unlimited text from the family plan that you get to keep it and can get the $25 data plan.

The air seems to be a little cloudy about this. Let me clear it up for you. If you on a family plan you will not be able to use the texting plan for the G1. You only have 2 options and that is the $25 plan or the $35 dollar plan. T-Mobile and 3 local stores have made that clear to me. I am part of a 4 phone family plan. I have paid for my G1 and when it comes out my father will get one. We have the $20/mo unlimited text for the family now. That works out to $5 per phone. When my father and I get our phones it will be $35 unlimited text/data plan per phone and $20 for the other 2 for unlimited texts. I hope they come to their senses and apply to the unlimited family text apply for the G1's.

and most people,including myself, believe the unlimited family texting plan will be carried over to the G1 on top of the included 400 minutes with the $25 plan.

Since you just have the unlimited text on the family plan, why don't you just add the $20 data plan instead of the $25 or $35 if you can bear with EDGE and just ditch 3G for now. That way you only pay an extra $20 instead of $25 or $35. I was actually thinking of doing the same thing coz we don't even have 3G available in our area. Why pay for something I can't even use?

I am so confused. I order my phone, I picked a plan but i don't get it. I picked the 35 dollar plan so what does that mean? All i got was a order summary i don't even know what i did . When i order the phone i thought the 35 included everything and i was on a separate plan. Can someone help me out?
