I have never hit more then one bar using wifi.you?

I think I have a wifi problem or it's my phone. Well I don't use wifi often bc I use my beloved iPod touch 2g when I have wifi. Anyways everytime I do decide to use the browser on wifi at my home it's always 1 bar everytime. Even when I'm next to the router . On the other hand my iPod touch 2g always has the full bars most of the time. I'll even have them in the same room but iPod still wins. It's not a router problem if my 2g is fine most of the times. Not a big deal for me but I was trying to use steel more but it's so slow that I have to use it with wifi . Thanks

LOL I'm always complaining. But that's what message boards r for right? Anyways I want keep thinking it's not (rather not say the D word). But I really think it's not the phone it's well yea it's the phone.

O yea and one more thing. It doesn't have to do with wifi but the phone service. I'll be class with 2 bars over edge and my page doesn't load untill like 3 mins later . But my friend with the sprints samsung instinc who also has like 2 bars loads really fast . He also could watch a YouTube video while I couldn't . So sprint has better internet speeds ?

I always have 1 bar also. Right now I'm maybe less than 10 feet from my router. My laptop has full bars but the g1 only has one. Same thing happens at work when i'm sitting right next to the router.

My internet is really quick, even edge. So that's why I think its your phone.

And as hard as it may be for me to admit, legitimate gripes/complaints are well legitimate.

I just think maybe you should replace the phone, to actually enjoy using it rather then be miserable with it, digg?

I've used my G1 on wifi from 100 feet away. More "bars" just means a lower chance of errors. I think his G1 is cursed. He should sell it to me for $1. I'll fix it.

I feel you man, my wifi is garbage. No joke. I think it may be that we and 50% of g1 owners got defective ones, because I exchanged it 2 times, the first one's wifi sucked, second was amazing, the third one sucks. I cant even use wifi because it sucks so much, I choose edge over wifi. It doesnt have to do with how many bars I have with me because it sucks with 1, 2 and 3 bars. It just doesn't work. 2/10 times I try wifi, it actually works.
My question is, is this a hardware or software issue?? I'm guessing hardware because for some people the wifi has been great and others not so great.

My wifi seems to work well but I can rarely get it to go up to the full three bars even when I'm standing 5 feet from the router. At best I get 2 and mostly 1, even in situations when my laptop has good to excellent connection. I don't know if it is just poor reporting of the connection status or if it really is not getting a good connection. Most the time it seems fairly speedy on WiFi, even when only getting 1-2 bars.
