Default How to make the screen turn on when a call is received?

Somewhere along the way my phone's screen stopped turning on when a call is received. I can still answer calls by hitting the green phone button and I can hit the Menu button twice, but the phone used to automatically show me who was calling. Those extra moments are really crucial to deciding whether to take a call before it is automatically routed to voicemail, especially when Android is slooooooooow (too often, alas) and hitting the menu button doesn't do anything right away.

I've looked high and low for an on/off setting for this, and there doesn't seem to be one. I've also double-checked my apps in case one of them has that as an unexpected feature and I've disabled some of them (like the ones that change the missed call reminders) to see if that makes a difference, all to no avail. I'm still thinking it's some kind of software conflict.

I sorta have this problem too. When i get an incoming call the phone screen lags in turning on. The ringtone starts going and the buttons light up AND the phone vibrates, but sometimes it takes 5 seconds for the screen to turn on to see my call.

    Anyone?

This started happening after RC33 was pushed out. To my knowledge, there is no fix.

I've noticed it before as well. I wouldn't say its all the time, but I have noticed it. Normally by the time I take it out of my hip holster its on, but not if its sitting on the table in front of me I notice it.

We have a support group that meets on Wednesday nights to offer each other moral support on this important issue. It bugs a lot of people. Including me. I sure do hope a yummy cupcake can fix it.

i've experienced this problem as well...even a bit further...sometimes when an incoming call is attempting to come through the phone will vibrate continuously without stopping and eventually resetting itself...ALL WHILE STILL VIBRATING!!! the only way i can actually get it to stop vibrating is to remove the battery and turn the phone back on...after doing so there isn't even a indication in my call log!!!

Just got a call and well no screen turn on at all. The phone was on the table. I wonder if its an accelerometer thing? It normally turns on when I have it on my hip.

It may be just a coincidence on the timing but I notice if I press menu when the phone starts ringing the number screen will light up and show up faster. Let me know if this works for you.
