Default How to Make Silent-Mode Vibrate instead of silent?

When I hold down the power button and choose silent, I want it to vibrate, not be silent. But I don't want the phone to vibrate when I have it in regular(loud) mode.

    Please help. Thanks.

I beleive if you lower the volume just before it goes to silent it changes to vibrate.

    Using: Samsung Galaxy S 4g on T-Mobile. Firmware 2.2.1

I was hoping for a quick vibrate-all widget or something. In the app "useful switchers" I put vibro call, but everything else (sms, etc) are silent. To keep pushing the down button like the Motorola phones is annoying

    In the homescreen thread?

Also, when I keep pushing the down volume key to vibrate, only calls are vibrate. SMS are silent... I want SMS silent too...

Rounded labs makes a widget that toggles three modes. Sound, vibrate, and silent. It also shows the status on the icon just like the status bar at the top so you know how it is set. Of course the volume button works too like mentioned before.

Does it work for ALL types of sound? So if you turn on vibrate, does it make sms, email, calls, etc vibrate, or only calls?

    Thanks

I've got an app that will do silent, vibrate or normal on a timed basis or location basis. I use it often. WHen I go into a meeting I may want it to be silent or vibrate (depending on the meeting) for a period of time but then come back (in case I forget). It works great and does affect the whole phone. It's called "buzzoff".
