how to delete contacts of SIM card?

hey i have my g1 love it. but I realized i have like 30 contacts saved on my SIM card. i wanna delete them from my SIM card. but idk how to. how do i do this?

if you still have a regular phone that takes a sim card, i'd reccomen you sync your sim contacts onto your g1, turn off your g1, then put the sim into your old phone to clear the sim. the doubled contacts after sync is rather troublesome... if you don't have a regular phone, you can use any phone that takes aa sim card to achieve the same result

I'd like to know the same thing.
Because thats one major flaw that Android forgot to add on.

I think it was too, but I also think that is massively conceited on google's part.

I know there are ways around this that involve exporting and then reimporting contacts through gmail. but i'd rather be able to just drop my sim in another phone if something happened to my g1 or even worse something happened to googles servers....

So has anyone figured how to delete the contacts off the Sim yet? Is there a program that might do this?

There’s an app called Contact2Sim. Is far as I can tell it SHOULD be able to delete contacts from the sim, but it doesn’t seem to work.
However the copying from phone to sim feature should work.

I have tried the contact2sim program, and the free version doesn't delete contacts off sim. It goes through the action, but contacts remain.

I found a very simple way that should work on most phones, but this description is specific to HTC Desire.

1. Go to People program (contact list)
2. Press menu button, and select view
3. Tick/select only sim contacts, then select done
4. Press menu button again, and select delete. A list of all sim contacts should appear.
5. At this point you can select individual contacts to delete, or by pressing menu again, you will have option to select all
6. Press delete, and sim contacts will be gone.
