How do i take the screen lock off...

under security i dont nothing, but the thing to set up a screen unlock patter, i dont no were to turn the screen unlock totally off

If you got to Settings > Security & Locations > there's an option at the top of the Sceen Unlock Pattern section that says "Require pattern".

Isn't that what you are looking for?

yea, and i dont want to put the screen to "never timeout" cuz it will kill the battery even more, like if it needs it

if you make sure that the pattern isn't required then all you have to do to wake the G1 up is press menu - is this what you are talking about? that you don't want to press the menu button to resume using the phone?

Make sure you are right before you act all smug. I turned it on, didn't like it so I turned it off. With your great insight I am sure you couldn't even engineer a hello world program!
