Help with missed calls..

Am I doing something wrong?
When someone calls me, and does not leave a voice mail, I get a missed call showing from them.
But when they call and leave a voice mail, I get no missed call notices (that white/red/black missed call icon does not show up).

Anyone else having this issue?

I have never gotten that. Does it always happen? I know missed calls notification sometimes don't stay if you are in the call log and press home(The phone thinks the call log is open)

Are you using the standard programme for voicemail or have you installed a 3rd party app? I use the standard one and it never not informed me of a missed call or a voicemail.

Just a thought.

I just checked my phone: no 3rd party apps. I see the arrow bouncing off the telephone handset, and next to it is an icon of a reel-to-reel/cassette tape showing I have voicemail. I also have mine set to ding if there's voicemail, but it only dings once. I'd like it to ding maybe every 5 minutes or so to remind me, but I've only had this phone for 10 days or so. I'm sure I'll find it.

Yeah no third party apps. It's weird. Whenever my mom and dad calls me, and leaves me a voice mail, I don't see their call at all on the list.
But then when they call and leave no msg, it shows.

Just curious cause my folks are now thinking that I'm avoiding their calls when I don't call back cause I don't see their name come up on my logs (I don't call right away after listening to voice mail).
