Default Help on using nexus one onscreen keyboard

I used to have a G1, but just today got a Nexus One. So I'm learning how to use the onscreen keyboard. I have a few of questions:

    1) When I'm typing, if I select the predictive text value for the word I want, it always inserts a space after. That's great if I'm in the middle of a sentence. But if I'm at the end of a sentence, it puts a space that I have to delete and then put a period. Is there anyway to sometime get the predictive text selection not to put a space?

    2) With my G1 keyboard, in any text field, I could hold down the shift key and then move my trackball to highlight text. How do you highlight text in a text field using the onscreen keyboard?

    3) With my G1, I could press menu-C, menu-X, and menu-V to copy, cut, and paste in a text field. How do you copy, cut, and paste using the onscreen keyboard?

    Thanks,
    Joe

it puts a space, but if you put a period right after it, it deletes the space.

No way to select a portion of the text? (e.g. a couple of words but not all?)

    Thanks,
    Joe

For the predictive text automatic space, try adding another space, as that should convert the first space to a period.

You can select certain text, not just all. Just long press and select " select text". Select with trackball, long press again and copy.
