I have a T-Mobile G1
Firmware is 1.6
Base version is 62.505.20.17U_2.22.19.26I

Well that definitely opened my eyes - to think all those rumors were based off the NiMH batteries of the 90's.
That would explain why my battery seem to be running on one leg, 30 minutes of video playing seems to chew up 15% - 20% and it takes my battery a few hours to charge.

If you are rooted, you can go to the terminal emulator and type this script. It deletes all of your old battery stats and may help in making the readings more accurate.
Su ( press enter )
rm /data/system/batterystats.bin ( press enter )
same problem here
