Has anyone ordered the phone from another family members upgrade to get the lowest price of $179? I am not eligible for the full discount and want to use my mothers upgrade (With her consent of course) but I am worried that it will be regisitered to her or whatever. I heard from a friend in the UK that they got new sim cards when they got 3G network. Does anyone know if they will have new sim cards for the US? If thats the case I can't order through my mothers account because they will send a card for her phone number.

You can always get another sim card for your phone and order a data plan for yourself, but remember your mother is going to have a 2 year contract for data and messaging.

I talked to tmobile today, and I asked if I could get a phone under my wifes number and they said yes. They said I can cancel the unlimted plan on my wifes phone, and just put my sim card in. And you also dont get billed till Nov. or Dec.....

Just got of the line with them with the same question. The rep said no
problem getting the upgrade with my wife's phone then using my card in it.
Justed signed on with her phone number and got the 179.99 price!

The rep did tell me that they only had about 1,000 phones left for the
preorder, don't know how true though.
