Google Talk through WiFi/3G

So im sure someone might have asked this already, but i ddnt find much, nor even know what exactly to search for. So dont hate!

Q: Is there an app or anything that will let me use gTalk without using up my txt msg plan? Like through regular WiFi?

Cuz it defeats the whole purpouse if it counts as a txt, I might as well just send a text! Before I knew gTalk counted as texts, i used up all my 400 msg plan in a week.

so I found something... the 24.99 data plan w 400 txts includes unlimited gTalk? is that true?

b/c on the same thread i saw people saying you get unlimited IM but that is not true, I got charged for MSN (if it wasnt gtalk). So im not sure what to believe...

I believe Google Talk is data-centric; it only works for me when I'm on WiFi, and even if I have no cellular reception. The other protocols are based on SMS.

GTALK IS FREE!

chat it up all you want. You can even use the default IM client... I'm never off of GTalk!... after finding this out, my wife and I NEVER text eachother.

the best idea ever Gtalk uses data which is unlimited with the 400txt unlimited data! you can also use hello aim that uses data as well, times are tough had to downgrade from unlimited everything and was pleased to find that gtalk wasnt using my txts up! stock aim, msn, Y! uses texts.
