Gmail app does not display images?

I attached some images to an email and sent it to myself. The Gmail app does not display the images. Is this normal? Its a JPG image and Gmail app shows a box with a ? mark in place of the image.

I get a small thumbnail of the pic along with a choice to either preview or download... not sure why you're not seeing it.

I also get the ? Strange that's its different for some. Maybe its a setting within gmail that we may not have access to via the phone? I will investigate and get back.

I get that as well. My only problem happens when I forward MM text messages to save, since I don't want to send to 222, I forward to my gmail. When I open the messages and choose display pictures from the top, nothing happens.

I get the same thing but if I go to gmail through the browser the pictures there and I can download it not sure what the problem is.
