    Bleh.

Don't want it at all. Lower res. screen, resistive touch, no keyboard, doesn't do anything the G1 doesn't (not interested in a front-facing camera)...

BUT: I COULDN'T BE HAPPIER that it's available! SO many things at CES running Android already. It definitely has buzz. The more devices we get out there, be they netbooks, phones, or simple PMPs like this, the more users Android will have, the bigger audience will attract developers, and hopefully it snowballs. Excellent.

Sadly the words "DON'T PANIC" are not on the back of the unit.

edit: at least not the stock unit

Know what the user experience is on that device? It'd be like the Nokia N800. Nice screen (like the Touch HD), virtual keyboard (the one on the N800 us full screen), and Android.

This would make a really nice device, but you know what? I'd be one happy bunny if it included

    a. a slide-out keyboard AND a virtual intelligent keyboard. I don't need it to be ultra-thin, and if a keyboard added another 3 to 4 mm to the thickness, and was priced like an iPod Touch, i'd buy it over the iPod Touch any time.

    b. HSPA and quad-band radio

    c. 800x600 screen resolution with support for 16m colours (G1 only does 64k colours)

    d. Standby of 400 hours, Talktime (3G) of 3.5 hours, or 5 hours on (GSM)

Consider it bought when released, well unless I head something else from CES.

I have read somewhere about a USD 149 price... a killer price!
    Writing from Brasília, Brazil.
With an unlocked Asian HTC Magic working on TIM Brasil network.
    (also with a G1 here)
