I just got my replacement 2 days ago and I still have the current defective phone. Don't know why they won't trust you man lol.
I know some of you guys on here that need a replacement phone called T-Mobile and they are allowing you to keep your current G1 till u receive the replacement. How did you convince them to do this because everytime I call they tell me I need to send mine back first and wont receive a replacement till the 24 of this month, that's just toooooo long for me to be without a phone. Is there something special I need to say to convince them to send the replacement first?

O and to answer you question DONT LET THEM SAY NO OR TAKE NO FOR ANSWER
You can keep your phone till a replacement arrives if you call it in after your 14-day buyers remorse period is up. After 14 days of delivery/purchase-in-store, it's technically an exchange. You can keep your current phone and they will a new one. Once you sign for the replacement phone, you have 7 days to send the defective one back or they'll charge you for that one too.
Hope that helps.
Well I called on Nov 6 and asked for a replacement phone under the 30 days buyers remorse policy(California), and they gave me a order number right on the spot on the same day, and shipped it out on Nov 7, UPS shows that I will be getting it on Nov 11.. Oh yeah I was able to keep my old phone until my replacement unit arrive.

So if I have an order number, does that mean that they have already placed the order and everything? I wasn't sure if they wanted me to ship out my phone right away or later on because I'm not getting the replacement until November 24th that day. I still have my phone and I do have another phone to use until it comes but I don't wanna go back to it. I wanna be able to use my G1 until my replacement comes at least, it works better than my older phone lol
I called T mobile because I was having issues with first phone (preorder). they said I would have to send it in before I could get a replacement. I was not going to do that. I asked to be transfered to the "contract" line. The rep there was awsome. She said I could send back to them via UPS and purchase one in the store. She put a note in the system for me to purchase it in the store for the same price I paid during the presale. I first had to send it via UPS and then call T mobile with the tracking #. Then I went to the store and purchased my new phone. Worked perfectly.I actually had a dead pixel on that phone and was able to take it to the store and exchange it.
