Thumbs up Getting prepared for arrival. What to do?

    HEY GUYS,

I JUST GOT THE SHIPPING INFO FOR THE G1 WHICH SAYS SHIPPED ON 10/15/2008. MY QUESTION IS THAT I HAVE A SIDEKICK 2008, AND I WANT TO TRANSFER MY NAMES, NUMBERS,EMAILS,ADDRESSES, AND NOTES.

I NEED SOMEONE TO TELL ME WHATS THE BEST WAY IN DOING THIS? SHOULD I BUY INTELLISYNC FROM THE TMOBILE SITE OR NOT?

    ANY SUGGESTIONS?

I already transfered my contacts, one-by-one, to my GMAIL contact lists. I assume, not 100% sure, but I assume that they will populate the phone once I log in. It was nice because I eliminated alost half of my contacts that I NEVER call.

You may want to search the forums as there has already been a couple few threads over this.. I personally can't get the search to return for me now...

You got shipping info? Well then, you should start booking a plane ticket to my town so you can come play with me since I won't have one to play with since no one wants to give me a tracking number *sniff*

Seriously, go to the search, search for "contacts" in the title only, and you'll get about 20 good threads on dealing with your contacts.

Here are two that are pretty informative:

As like some of the other members, I went in a week ago and cleaned up my contact list on my Gmail account, if you don't have one, well, get one! So once the g1 is ready to go, its synced up and ready to go.

If you're looking for something else to do after you've set up your gmail account, go buy a memory card! It comes with 1 gig, but thats not enough for most people.

I did everything for calendar and contacts and stuff, but I haven't heard about notepad on G1. do they even have one? I'd like to keep all of my notes on my bb in G1.
    anybody know anything?
