    Default G1 won't boot

Searched, found a couple of similar posts, but I just want to be sure they're dealing with the same thing. I have a rooted G1 running JS 1.3, had the older Macdroid theme installed. Now, I've been having issues with the phone not working right, especially problems with the camera never working, so I decided to wipe the phone and start over. Backed everything up and went into the settings and did a factory reset. Now, no matter what I try, it won't get past the android splash screen. I can still get into recovery, can I just reflash js 1.3, then upgrade to 1.4,? Or do I need official firmware (rc29), then re-root and reflash js 1.3?

hey, same thing happened to me and what I did is this: boot in bootloader mode (power+camera button) you may have to remove the battery to do it, then restart by pressing green+menu+red buttons, that should fix it, if not just re-apply the JSv1.31 or JFv1.41 which is the newest. hope that helps

Went into boot loader already, no dice. I'll reflash with one of the jf firmwares, but I'm just wondering if I need to downgrade to rc 29 first, or if I can just go for the cf.

forgot to mention, if you apply the jfv1.41_rc30 you'll want the macdroid V2.1 theme which supports the multi-touch hack

A lot of themes have been getting a lot of people stuck at the boot screen. If you want the multi-touch browser, just wipe and do an upgrade to JF 1.41.

Thanks, but I think you may be misunderstanding the problem. I installed js 1.31 around the 5th, then installed the Macdroid theme around the 15th or so, didn't have any problems with it. Lately, though, the camera stopped working on me, and other apps were force closing, so I thought I'd do a factory reset to clear things up. When I did, the phone refused to boot.
Now, about 5 minutes ago, I decided to try and reinstall jf 1.31, everything installed correctly, but it still won't boot. I'm going to try and use an official rc 29, see if that helps.

are you sure you went into bootloader (red+camera)? reboot (red+menu+red), then go Home+red, apply firmware (alt+s) and reboot (home+back), I will not go back to rc29, instead apply the newest JF

Yeah, I went there, the skateboarding androids, right? Reinstalled jf 1.31, but it didn't help. I got it working though, decided to go waaaaaay back, redownloaded the dreaming.nbh, I'm back on rc 29. Phone seems to be working now, going straight to JF 1.41 now.
Wait, do I still have root, or do I have to get pterminal and do that all again? I'll know in a few minutes, I guess.

Id do a home+green go into rc-col-a1905 type end trans.

This will take you to home + red in safe mode access FlxCpctr and raise it to 1.21 jig

After you do that power down and itll boot up normally.
