G1 annoying squeak

Hello everyone, new here obviously. I just got the G1 this past friday; im not sure if this problem was there from the start or it just started happening or whatever the case maybe. IT MAKES A VERY ANNOYING SQUEAK when I push down right above the chin, under the screen on bottom right (when closed). Anyone else have this problem?? I got the $5 a month insurance deal so im going to call for a new one, I just want to hear your views before I do.

There's this joke i heard once, it goes like this:

a guy goes to the doctor over a pain in his leg, and when he gets into the examining room the doctor asks him what's wrong.
The guy says"well doc, every time i push myself right here it hurts like madness, what should I do?"

Hmm, funny answer. That acually made me laugh, but anways I dont have to intentionally push it; when I press the menu my finger goes over and hits where it squeaks (making me feel like throwing the phone to the ground). But yes I do push it purposely because it makes me MAD !!!!

If you look closely at the right most edge , just right of the hinge that folds open the keyboard. There is a small less than a mm wide notch, which runs down along the interior side of the chin.

Take a small exacto knife or razor blade and chip it off.

It will stop the creaking.

Another thing, when you put the phone on your ear during a call, you can hear it, its ****ing annoying, I've had it since the day I brought my phone (October) and I still haven't done anything to fix it yet.

Welcome. This is a common problem that has been bugging everyone. I had to throw mine to the ground, i was pissed at what i'd paid for. so i had to deal with it since i had no choice. i expected the phone to be perfect. so breathe and take deep breathes
