For everyone that is going to try to pick up their phone early

How are you going to do this? I contacted ups and they clearly stated they will not/could not schedule a pickup of a package unless it has already been atempted to be delivered. Mine is not due to be delivered till the 21st. Even though the package is only 5 min from me. It has been sitting in the hub/terminal since sat at 8am. I was hoping to just go pick it up monday night after I got off of work but they will not and could not change the package for pickup until it has been attempted to deliver at the address.

So everyone please explain to me what you have been told or if you have even called and tried to change the delivery to a pick up. Also any others package really close to them but not being delivered until tuesday the 21st?

mines is at the ontario hub but I don't think things go straigh from there out for delivery it has to go to some sort of substation which is why mines not scheduled untill the 21st thats the only reason I can figure ontario is pretty close to me.

Unfortunately I'm in the same boat. Mine's been about 5 miles away since 3am Saturday morning and the website says it's not scheduled for delivery until the 21st. I'm hoping for some reason that's inaccurate and it goes out for delivery tomorrow. I haven't called UPS but I would definitely go pick it up tomorrow if possible, so I'm interested to hear what others have to say.

I don't think you understand how UPS works. Any package "at a hub" or "in transit" is --usually-- in a 52' trailer with 5000 other packages, or traveling along a conveyor belt somewhere. The chance of it being located, intercepted, and personally held out for you (anyone) is slim. I worked for them. We used to get these questions/situations all the time.

I used to work for ups about 4 years ago. In fact I used to work at that same location it is which is the main hub for my area. I used to work the late shift 11-4am on fri sat sun and we unloaded the delivery trucks and then it got sorted on the conveyor cart. Its not to difficult to find the package once it has made its scan as it is done but time and can be traced. However on the weekends it can be tougher to find it as there is more than 1 days of packages there are fridays sat and sundays shipements. Now when I used to work there we could change it for pickup but now it has been changed.

thats the way it has been since i have been getting orders from ups thats nothing new you. if that was the case then they dont need ups drivers to delivery and that would cause heavy traffic and extremly long lines and make things hetic thats with any package from anywhere

ya its not until the day of delivery that you can pick it up and you have to call UPS and let them knwo you will be there to pick it up


at least thats the case at the ups here u cant pick it up unitl 10:00 am and they set all those packages aside so they dont go out for delivery
