Farsi font is not supported in Android

Hi,

Android is not supporting some of the windows fonts like Farsi and so I can't use my cell phone half the time I'm in Facebook, or reading my emails. Does anybody know if they are going to support the windows fonts in future?

I have the same problem, can not read Persian alphabets in my browser in samsung moment which has android market application.

What a shame. I have to use my iPhone (European & pay roaming) instead of Droid in order to follow the events in Iran.

I rooted mytouch and added few fonts etc, but still getting Sq letters.. I'll fix it or write a rom for it, and will share it with u people.

Hi Tom
You said you can write and app to display Farsi in android phone. I have problem when I get Farsi emails the words are display one Farsi letter as a time they are not attached to each other to make the complete word.
Could you come up with a app to display Farsi in email and websites?
Or if anybody knows how to fix this problem in droid phone please post.

Use Firefox browser. Firefox browser support Farsi font. You could download it from Android Market for free.

I had been wondering lately as to why Android does not support Farsi Font. I have seen Farsi Font in both iOS and Windows 7. This has led to an increasing difficulty in reading Persian alphabets in the browsers. Hope this issue is solved with in ice-cream sandwich!

دستور عمل به شرح زیر
میباشد

This is how I did it, GO to market --> search for FARSI NEVIS KEYBOARD ---> download it ---> install it ---> go to your All settings ---->select keyboard ---> look for FARSI NEVID KEYBOARD ---> select or tick all the boxes ---> go toInput languages ---> select Farsi and فارسی ----> start composing a sms---> keyboard will pop ----> next to ?123 button click the O ---->touch SELECT INPUT METHOD ---> select Farsi Nevis Keyboard ------> next to ?123 O , space bar ----> slide your finger on it until فارسی shows up . congradulations you are ready to type فارسی .
