Ok when i first got my G1 i added my yahoo mail account to the phone and it worked fine and i got all my emails. Now when i go to my inbox it says " Connection Error" and when i try to add another account it tells me my email and password is wrong. Help Plz![]()
The mail app has issues, lots of people have reported to have that pop email connection problem. my self included. its been said that an update will fix the issue, were still waiting.
WOW this exact issue happened to me too! help! It worked fine for almost 2 days then connection error. I deleted the account and tried to reactivate it several times and received the incorrect password or username message. I can access it through normal web browser though.
My just doesn't load any emails. Ironically it finds one 8 month old email about google launching a android phone with t-mobile so yea... wtf?
I have had my G1 for about a month and I loaded a regular gmail account. I also added two IMAP emails, one was a regular "@gmail.com" address and the other is the email address for my custom domain, "@justkissnmakeup.com"....Everything worked fine for a month. Now, both gmail accounts work fine, but only on the custom domains will it not work.
It seems custom gmail domains, and other web providers using IMAP are the ones suffering the most.
I really wish this could be rectified as I use my custom email a lot and I do love them being separate not just"clumped together in your gmail" like someone recommended. Much easier to keep it separate.
I tried to use my comcast account on the G1 and it t would work sometimes then it wouldnt work others. Bottom line is NOTHING but G-mail can be trusted to be reliable (not even gmail sometimes) until cupcake as stated above. Until then do what i did, have your other e-mails forwarded to gmail, and have g-mail settings set to "Send email from recieved address name" that way if you get an email from "email@email.com" if you reply to that email it will show up to the person as if you sent it from your "email@email.com" vs your "email@gmail.com" account. In fact i have it ALWAYS send from my original email account instead of my gmail account. In other words noone sees my gmail account name looks like it ALL comes from my normal comcast email.
