Email (not gmail) problems! What2Do?

I use the email functionality to download my yahoomail instead of gmail. It's not great, tho it's better now that I've turned off the high volume yahoogroups mail I was getting (a little sad since you can't open yahoogroups listings on the g1 either, but that's another post.)
Anyway, the problems are:
1/ No way to empty the trash folder. And mine is getting BIG! Any news on when this issue will be resolved? If not, my phone's memory will be gone soon. This is my number one concern!!

2/ I've found that when I read and delete mail from the G1 Inbox, it somehow tags these mails back in yahoo as spam. It took awhile to figure this out becuase it is random. Not every email, just some. I had important emails getting lost -- and finally noticed one from a business contact had been dumped to spam. I contacted t-mobile but there were/are clueless about this and I've no confidence that it's being tracked anywhere as a problem.

3/ (Edit) It's also downloaded everything that yahoo has put in my spam folder! So SPAM mail downloads to the G1 and real mail gets put in yahoo spam. This is NOT good!

Of course, I also hate that mail I've read and deleted in the G1 will re-download again if it's still in the yahoo inbox (even tho marked read). But I suppose some people think that is a plus.

Any news? Thoughts? Help?

1) i guess the only solution now is to long press each email and delete it.. pain in the ass

2) really? that is the worst thing!

3) i noticed that too.. too much spam.. the funny thing is the emails going to my filtered folders in my yahoo don;t get forwarded to the G1..

i really hope they fix the email application too.. it's pretty useless to me as it is right now...

i was debating on whether to forward my emails to my newly created gmail account just so i can use it on my G1!

I use Yahoo mail and have those inconveniences as well on the G1 e-mail. The only suggestion I can give you for now is to make a link or bookmark on the web browser to yahoo mail and access it through there, that way you can actually move messages to folders etc.
If a message is very important and you need to be notified when you receive it you can set up alerts that are forwarded to your phone as txt message. This worked wonders back when i had a razr 2 with no internet.
