it states in the, Getting Started Guide page 21 that you can ,"fetch messages from up to five e-mail accounts" as long as they are POP3 and IMAP, hope this helps
Does anyone know if you can only setup one e-mail address (not talkin just gmail) because I'm coming over from a blackberry and have multiple addresses I need to be able to send/receive e-mail from. I hope this is not the case or I will be upset.

There is Push email available for just the primary GMail account setup on the G1, but you can setup other IMAP, POP accounts as well, just that the other ones won't have push email.
sorry that is, " fetch messages from up to fice e-mail accounts"
So will I have to send and receive to "fetch" these messages or does it check every X minutes?
sorry dont know just reading from owners manuel, maybe somebody else can answer that as well
This sounds like the only drawback for me![]()
it has to be able to check every once in a while I hope it does because that would suck but of course this could be inplemented
You don't have to send and recieve email to see new emails, according to the manual you just press refresh and you can see the newest email. It also has an option to automatically refresh and check if you have new email.
Here:
Email check frequency
Select this pop-up menu to set how frequently your email
account is checked for new messages. Note that whenever youopen a folder, email is refreshed, regardless of this setting.
From the user guide, at least you can set how frequently you want it to check for email so it can do auto-refreshing. So you can just set it for a few minutes and every few minutes it will auto-update for you! This is the advantage of being able to run background apps!
So what is the difference between "refresh" and push?
