downloading an mp3 from gmail

anytime somebody emails me an mp3 the phone only allows me to preview the mp3 and not actually download and save it. is it possible to actually download and save the mp3 to the phone?

I hope so, I"m in audio so people send me audio files all the time. as much as I hate windows mobile and my shadow I could this on it. Can anyone confirm if this can be done? I don't have a G1 so I can't try it myself, I"m still deciding if I want a G1, Iphone, or patiently wait for motorola's android phone

yea, go to browser and type in www.gmail.com instead of using the gmail app, and use that,in there u can long press the file and go to SAVE FILE AS, then when it downloads, go into your file manager and change the name to what you need it to be

thanks for the help. i'll try this out tonight. i tried using mediafire to transfer around mp3s from my computer to my g1 and i had no luck.

are there any types of file servers that will work?
