hackers are already probably planning this stuff before you brought it up. We just need to be careful and download from a trusted source. Who knows, maybe there will be an "antivirus" or "spyware" program
A good question. The Android platform come with full GPS support. I'm not really sure that I want any spyware or virus/troyen monitoring where I am.
I hope that i'm not giving bad idea to people.

Well, the biggest spyware would be Google itself, which can monitor your contact list, emails, location and much more. So, I guess viruses and spyware are not much of a concern.
Also, Android is based on linux, which has a much better file system security architecture than windows. I'm sure it'll be difficult to run some random code on that phone unless you explicitly execute it.
Yeah I guess. I would like to have a program monitor to see what is running on the phone. Also, If the program itself is not running at startup I would simply flush it.
And lol, I don't really bother about google spying up my email and location!! I just don't want someone following me for fun like the game "wifi army" (but without a volontary activated video game). Or I just don't want my wife to monitor where I am secretly lol.
But on the other hand I would like to have to possibility to monitor where is my cell phone is if I ever lost it (or if someone stole it).
I thought I read somewhere that google would have a way to check that an application does not contain a virus or malware before it is submitted to Android Market. I sure do hope that no one is able to submit any applications that will call international number or otherwise affect my service.
Androidmaddy is corect!
The Android OS is based on Linux OS. There's very little virus for it because of how Linux was made.
If they program Android OS properly, you don't have to worry about spyware either.
So you don't have to worry.

I think Android Market should have an option for each app - 'vote for removal'.... so that if some bad app gets in very easy, it also gets out that fast....
We users should downloadonly those apps that are rated high by lots of other users...
