At one point in time they were going to impose a cap but they decided to keep it unlimited.
They did state that excessive use will be capped at a point then throttled, though they did not state what they define as excessive.
There's a limit to everything; web hosts that claim "unlimited" bandwidth/storage for $10/month, $100 for membership for "life", *insert more examples since I can't think of others*... they all have limits.
What's the T-Mobile definition of "Unlimited" Data Plan per month?

I've heard that they will throttle you after 10GB/month, but who knows if that's true. I can't use anywhere near that much on a mobile device.
There are times I don't go over 10 Gb on my home cable internet service (most likely makes up for the times where I go over as much as 100Gb) still w/o tethering I never see anyone hitting 10 Gb just using the apps for the phone itself.
3GB in the UK. Not bad, not unlimited. IMO, the phrase "Unlimited internet, limited to 3GB" is ridiculous, but that's what they mean. Much better if they just keep it simple.
On the other hand, O2's unlimited UK limit is officially 200MB, although they are unofficially dropping that since you'd be stuck from week 2 onwards. 200MB is... daft, although that doesn't stop the shop assistants telling you that's more than you could ever use in a month.
jeeeezzz...they need to stop calling it unlimited if there still a limit.
my buddy (tmo employee) just told me about this limit sunday. Hardly a limit, i think. 10/gb seems like a lot but i havent gotten my G1 yet (went tonight but had none in stock) so i cant be sure yet
but yea, once over the limit you'll only get EDGE speeds... so your data IS unlimited, however, your 3G speeds aren't
Talked to a T3 T-Mo rep that said it is in-fact UNLIMITED. Even if they do throttle you after 10 GB, that is still nearly impossible to reach on a cell phone. Now when people come out with solid solutions on how to tether your phone to a computer for internet access, that is another story :] (i've pulled 300 GB every month from comcast for the past 5 years and haven't heard a peep from them, but i doubt i'd have the patience to reach that with tethered internet access since it would be quite a bit slower..)
can't wait to leave t-mobile
