Cupcake update + Flash 10 = iPhone massacare!

The iphone isn't going anywhere, but I think they will be eclipsed somewhat by Android. The reasons: 1) multiple phones and carriers will soon have Android, and 2) the iphone monthly is expensive and AT&T service is near the bottom of ratings by consumers (the two reasons I never sprung for an iphone, though I was tempted prior to the G1 coming out).

The iphone, though a worthy competitor, for the above reasons, will eventually become an apple fanboy cult phone. I think this is what worries Apple suits, which is why they are releasing in in WalMart. If the G1 & Android had not been such a succcess, this move surely would not have been made.

moving a product to wally world is the best/worst thing a company can do... i'll let you decide why i think that is

It's announcement is why my G1 isn't on Ebay already.

I have heard nothing from Apple relating to flash on the iphone. Personally, i don't see it ever happening, for the same reasons that causes all of their problems. Anyone who has flash has instant access to streaming and downloadable music content from thousands of sources other than Apple. What has continued to allow Google to keep the edge over everyone they go up against is they are happy to give it away. How the hell do you compete with that?

Yeah, Apple also doesn't want flash on the iPhone as that would allow developers to get around their fees they charge for apps to be in their app store. Not to mention it won't allow them to rule the iPhone with as much of an iron fist as they do now.
