Cupcake Released OTA in UK
It seems like T-Mobile UK has released cupcake but they don't know the timescale. So hopefully we'll see it very very soon in T-mobile USA!

Per the links you should have read...
T-Mobile said that the so-called Cupcake update has now gone live, and that G1 owners will receive the code as an automatic download delivered to their phone sometime during May.
