Craigslist Problems

Anyone else have problems responding to ads on craigslist? Im looking to purchase an Xbox tried to respond to ads and get a non deliverable. This never happend with my sidekick. Any suggestions?

yeah...look at the address bar when you respond...it automatically slaps @gmail.com in there

you have to change it to @craigslist.org

This does appear to be a problem. I replied to an ad I have posted on CL and got the following bounced back when using gmail:

Notice that the email address has the gmail.org instead of the craigslist.org added on. Also, when attempting to use my non-gmail mail, it did not fill in the "To" field as it does on my home computer. Clearly, craigslist is not optimized for non-standard browsers. What else is new?

When im using craigslist...i typically look for a phone number anyhow...just to reassure myself that they are local and im not setting myself up for a letdown/scam.

I usually just send a text to the number...I have always gotten a faster response that way.

Interesting. I never replied from my phone, but I am curious as to why this happens.

Its a bug with the implementation of the mailto parser. Doesnt understand the subject param so it will slap a @gmail.com in there. There is a bug report on it and hopefully it will get fixed in cupcake. I wrote an OilCan script but there is a bug in OilCan so its not working correctly. Just have to wait for CupCake or OilCan update and use the script. There is a topic about this but I'm on the G1 so cant post it.
