I am eligible for an upgrade on 10.5.08. If the preorder ends on 10.3.08, can anyone 100% rule out the chance of me negotiating the full discount? Or is there a sliver of a chance? Perhaps a decent chance? I have G1 anxiety and it is affecting my ADD.

I would suggest you call Customer Service and tell them the story how disparately you were waiting on the best phone ever that they will release and it depends on your luck, you may end up with getting the deal

PS. Make sure you call Customer Svc Rep and check WHEN exactly you can upgrade. If you are at 10th month of your contract you may be able to get pre-order discount price... if you are under 2 year agreement - you need to be 22 months in the order to be eligible for full discount.
I am just past 22-month and checked already that I will be getting full discount for Android based phone ...
