Default Clear Browser Cache Data, but save your bookmarks to your phone!

Ok, I was running out of space on my G1, so I went to Manage Applications (Settings>Applications>Manage Applications) and saw that my browser was hogging tons of memory..

So I cleared it, only to find that all my bookmarks were gone. Here's a quick fix.

Send yourself a text message (or an email) with your favorite websites...

Touch the message and all the url's will be listed.

Now you can easily navigate to them without retyping the url.. you can choose to favorite them again.. OR.. just don't delete the text message and access them from there. This will allow you to clear out your browser more frequently without having to go through the hassle of remember what your bookmarked sites were and then retyping them.. Plus, if you forward it to yourself as an email aswell, you can have all your favorites on hand in case you have to do a factory reset.

Or if you want to be more selective, while in the browser you can hit Menu-More-Settings, and delete what you want: Cache, history, cookies, form data, and/or passwords. Your bookmarks will not be deleted.

I wish I would have known that before I wiped all of them.

Default Ideas like this are why I love and need Android Forums-Thanks!

I just wrote a post asking about clearing my cache & cookie data and saw your thread-perfect timing and very thoughtful thinking on your part.

lol if you don't wanna erase your bookmarks

don't Clear data, just clear cache.

    Settings-applications-manage apps-browser-clear cache. Don't click "clear data"
and your bookmarks will not be erased
