Can someone help please?

I have an LG optimus p500 and would like to know how to change my icon to a picture of me rather than a grey square when texting, I have entered my number as a contact and put a photo to that but that doesn't work. Is it even possible to have a photo next to Me: when I text or can I only put photo's to other people?

You could try using alternative SMS apps like GO SMS or Handcent. I know they allow you to set a picture in the app's settings. They're both free in the Market
