Yes it can.
Can a Motorola USB car charger be used on a Tmobile G1?
Yes it can.

Yes, just about any charger that has a mini USB connector on it should work, in fact, all that I have used have worked thus far. Even the data cable that came with my cannon camera charged my phone when connected to the computer. The data cable is just mini usb to usb and it charged it perfectly.

thanks for the info. Now all I need is somebody to make it possible to run apps off of the microSD card and I will be happy![]()
You and just about everybody else on this board. No worries, a source that works for Google here in Dallas (not on the android team, he's in the IT department) reassured me that Google knows about this issue and will have it resolved very quickly. Now, I'm not sure what their idea of "very quickly" is, but I would have to imagine it'll be fixed before the end of the year.

There is another thread about this somewhere on the forum. and a member warned against this in detail, I can't remember word for word, b/c i was wondering the same thing. He said that the amp out put is different on each charger. the g1 needs a 1 amp or 1LPS or amp out put. If you look on the chargers you will see INPUT then the values for it, then OUTPUT and the values for it, G1 needs to be 1LPS/ AMP (whatever u call it). using wrong output could damage the battery.
Bullcrap, I used my RAZR car charger for my BB curve and now my G1.
He's not saying it won't work.... it's just harder on the circuits... hence possible failure
LoL I charge my G1 from my PS3. The USB that charges the game controller charges my G1.
