I'm on my third call to tmobile support (they keep disconnecting me). So far the response is mostly been -- reset the phone and it's not our problem. THey are opening a trouble ticket for their engineers to research.
damn it! this is happening to me too and I hardly ever surf on my g1 what the eff!

I think thats what it is. I just disconnected from Edge and hooked into my wifi. I then cleared all the data on the browser and now I can get to Yahoo.
I have this same problem too (when trying to connect to the main Yahoo website of www.yahoo.com). However, since I only to check my e-mail, I tried typing in the Yahoo mail address (mail.yahoo.com) and it was smooth sailing after that. So, I have that bookmarked as my Yahoo mail url now and unless you really need to check Yahoo for news or there lame video of the day, then just do what I did for e-mail. Sweet! It does kind of suck though that there is some issue with Yahoo not being able to protect or encrypt their main website url though.I'm out!
FYI - UpVise Pro and CB Reversi are the last things I've downloaded in the past few days. Everything else I've had for a couple of weeks, but include anycut, video player, taskswitcher, shopsavvy, oi notepad, ringdroid, solitaire, restaurant, coloroid, flashlight, aknotepad, and zombie, run!
xdrunk - I tried clearing everything as well, but it wasn't very long before the problem popped back up. I did change my homepage for now, and did clear out all the cookies, cache, passwords, etc etc off the phone. But yahoo.com is still messed up for me, altho I can use google.com. Tmobile escalated my call into a ticket to engineering -- but they kept telling me I am the only one who has called so I'm not sure how serious they are taking it.
YOU GUYS SHOULD ALL CALL TMOBILE TOO, then maybe they'll realize there is a problem.
u should just do a factory reset and that should fix your problem.
Hi folks, I'm the guy who posted the screenshots and such over on T-Mobile's forum, figured I'd post here too.
Right off the bat, figured I'd post what I've installed so far:
AK Notepad
aLastFM Player
Android File Manager
Any Cut
aPlayer
aReader
Bartender
Brain Genius Deluxe (Edit: Forgot this one, shows up as com.glu.android.bgd in settings)
Cinema
Compare Everywhere
ConnectBot
PAC-MAN
Panoramio
Radar
ShopSavvy
Solitaire
Tetroid
TuneWiki
Twisty
WikiMobile
None of these have been installed in the past 4 or 5 days, and the problem just started happening tonight. As mentioned in the other thread, I've had the ddms debugger hooked up and haven't seen anything too strange, though I also can't look at a process listing with the debugger. Nothing weird showing up in messages though.
I was just able to get it to happen using Wi-Fi rather than 3G, here's what shows up in my router's log:

I can't think of any other tests to run right now to try to narrow it down. I'll also give a call to T-Mobile, I haven't gotten much of a response over on their support forums.
Edit again: Also realized that I may have had the malware version cached when I switched over to Wifi. I've cleared cache and will try again in 15-20 minutes and see if I can get it to happen again.
Final edit: I haven't had it happen again since clearing the cache and using Wi-Fi, going to try again in the morning.

Hey Servo. Am on the g1 now. Again cleared cache etc but this time switched to wifi
b4 starting yahoo, com. This seems to make a difference. Have turned the g1 off and back on and switched back to edge with no problems. Not yet tried again with 3g. Whatcha think about that? Btw. I gave your other posts url to tmobile last nite.... until I did they didn't seem to believe there was a problem. Wiping the phone should NNOT be the 1st response to things! Thx 4 the info.!
Post your firmware version too! Are you guys up to RC30?
